Top WordPress PluginsOne of the many reasons I like WordPress so much is because of the plugins. There are so many good one out there.

I could have just listed out the good WordPress plugins but that would do a great disservice to my readers. Instead I will include only the top plugins that deserve to be mentioned.

These plugins are amazing and I highly recommend them. If you have a WordPress site you should have them installed. They are free and easy to install so there is no reason you should not have them installed on your own site.

I will break down the plugins by category and whether they affect the front-end or back-end of the site.


These plugins are for the back-end of your site. They may affect the performance of your site.

  • Akismet – Protect your blog site from people spamming your site. This plugin uses the Akismet web service to see if a comment submitted to your site is a spam or not.
  • Redirection – This plugin manages your 301 redirection. This is useful if your URL has changed and you still want your readers to be redirected to the correct page.
  • W3 Total Cache – This plugin will make your pages load faster. It creates static html files of your site which means less CPU processing for your site.
  • WP-DBManager – If you are not backing up your WordPress site, you need to get this plugin right now. It makes it really easy to back up and restore your WordPress database.


  • Quick Adsense – One of the ways to make money with your blog is using Google Adsense. This plugin offers a quick way to add Google Adsense code or other ad codes to your site.


  • Fast Secure Contact Form – This plugin lets you customize your contact form. You can add Captcha to block spam.
  • Register Plus – This plugin enhances your registration page. It provides such features as email validation and captcha validation to protect you from spam.


  • GD Star Rating – This plugin allows your readers to rate your posts.


These plugins are for the front-end of your site. It is meant for optimizing your site.

  • All in One SEO Pack – This plugin helps you focus on writing content for your site rather than working on SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
  • Google XML Sitemaps – This plugin will generate an XML sitemap. It will help search engines better index your pages.
  • SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 – If you want to increase your page SEO, this plugin is for you. It displays incoming search terms to your blog posts from your post or as a sidebar widget.
  • Yet Another Related Posts Plugin – This plugin gives you a list of posts that are related to the current one.
